Chicken Wings (also called Buffalo wings) are deep fried in oil and then shaken with the hot sauce. They are then served with a side of Blue Cheese dressing, carrot and celery sticks. Chicken Fingers are whole chicken breast filets. They are breaded, deep fried in oil and then shaken in the hot sauce. Chicken fingers are served with a side of Blue Cheese dressing, carrot and celery sticks, and french fries. The Chicken Wing was invented in 1964 at the Anchor Bar.

Hot Dogs:

No Buffalonian can go with out this especially in the summer time. Buffalo probably has the best hot dogs in the country and the brand traditionally used is Buffalo's own Sahlens hot dogs. There are two distinct Buffalo style dogs. First is the Red Hot. It is charbroiled over an open flame. Traditional toppings include ketchup, mustard, relish, onions, dill pickle spears, Chili, sauerkraut, and chili sauce. Popular sides include curly fries with vinegar, onion rings, and Buffalo's own tasty beverage Loganberry. Second is the Texas Hot also called sliders or the slime dog. This was one of Buffalo's first fast food. The dog is fried and served on a steamed bun. What makes it unique is it's sauce. This is a hot (spicy) Texas chili type sauce with greek oils added to it. The Texas Hot is smothered in the sauce, mustard, and slivered silver onions. These are very popular especially for those who spent the night at the bar scene.

Local taverns and pizzerias also serve tacos/burritos. It is usually stuffed with ground beef, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and Frank's hot sauce. Some will serve it with banana peppers also.

BBQ:

There is only one unique style of Buffalo BBQ and that would be Chiavetta's Chicken. The unique flavor is the vinegar based marinade which is Buffalo's own Chiavetta's.
