All about Parrots and how to take care of them

Native Habitats/Climates of the wild Parrots

Here we will give a small rundown of Parrots native habitats and climates.  The locations posted here are where almost all Parrot species live. The great amount of different habitats and climates that Parrots live in are truly amazing. Parrots are found primarily in the tropical & subtropical regions of the southern hemisphere... As far north as Afghanistan & as far south as the Antipode Island of New Zealand. Our wild Parrots are much different than our captive Parrots.  In the wild, Parrots migrate many miles, during different parts of the year, and are constantly looking for food & water, foraging for food, breeding/mating, socializing with flock mates, preening, bathing and constantly on the look-out for predators.  They spend the hottest part of the day high up on trees taking an afternoon nap.   Their complete eating habits are still in the infant stage of research.  They are wasteful/messy eaters though, helping trees and plants to reproduce.  In the wild Parrots rely on safety in numbers.  Parrots are very social animals and live in flocks, sometimes very large ones.  They have there own language that consists of many different "calls" and body postures.  This is how they communicate with each other.  They can recognize many individuals inside there own flock.  They use this "language" to communicate what is going on around them and their intentions towards each other.  INTERFERENCE of their habitat by global warming, clearing of forests by man, agriculture, mining, predatation, disease, hunting/poaching, and the international pet trade have and continue to make survival and life difficult for this unique species. So, here is a glance at there many habitats around the globe.
