Safety/Inspection

Parrots are destructive creatures by nature and in time, their toys will become destroyed. This is normal and healthy. Periodically examine the toys for splintered wood, loose strings and straps, bent metal, loose bells, and mold or fungus. Prevent hazards before they happen. Replace these toys with new and different ones.  Rotate toys weekly if you can to keep your parrot stimulated.  Also, do not be afraid to make your own toys!  This can be very fun and rewarding to both human and parrot.  There are many places online or at petstores where you can find toy parts.  As a Parrot would say... Live life, PLAY HARD!!!

Cages

Here we will give a basic run down on the cage sizes for a particular species.  It is much better to have a wider cage than a taller one.  If you have Parrots with large tails, it is a good idea to also have their cage tall.  The sizes we will give are the minimum size for the species.  You should always try to get a bigger cage if you can.  The bigger the better!
